While holidays are frequently enough portrayed as a time of joy ‌and togetherness, they can also be a period of intense stress, loneliness, and grief for many Australians.

“The holidays are a significant time of the year for people who need our help. ⁤This ⁢period can be an emotional and psychological minefield for those⁣ of us who have experienced ‍loss, grief, struggle, isolation and pain,” said Lifeline CEO colin Seery. “The idea ‍of togetherness traditionally associated with holidays can also⁤ exacerbate the⁣ intense loneliness many people feel.”
