Pisogne‘s PalaRomele: A Stunning new Sports Hub Rises
After a complete demolition less than a year ago, Pisogne’s PalaRomele has been reborn as a modern, energy-efficient, and multifunctional sports facility. Mayor Federico Laini declares it will be ”the most gorgeous gym in the province.” The fully completed interior will host an exciting inaugural gospel concert by “Spirit of New Orleans” on January 1st at 6 PM, with free entry for all. Regular activities will commence on January 4th, catering to teams, matches, and school use, starting January 7th.
While final exterior touches are expected by mid-February, this doesn’t hinder the commencement of activities. The Pisogne Administration plans to establish an internal bar by mid-year, enhancing the facility’s amenities. The €5.5 million project received substantial funding: €2 million from the regional program for economic recovery, €2 million as a municipal loan, and the remainder from GSE and Law 145/2018.
A Modern Masterpiece
Inspired by Northern European architecture, PalaRomele boasts innovative materials ensuring energy efficiency. The stands comfortably seat around four hundred spectators, featuring minimalist and easily maintained furnishings. The facility also includes four changing rooms for teams and referees, an infirmary with direct ambulance access, an anti-doping room, restrooms, a designated space for sports associations, a warehouse, the bar, and a stylish entrance foyer. A green area will be developed for the benefit of schools and the gym itself.
“The first event is the show,” says Mayor Laini, “and from the 4th we start using it regularly. In February we will finish the external works followed by the internal bar. I won’t add anything other than that it will be the most beautiful gym in the province.”
