operations manager Kim Flakstad of the Sør-West police district confirmed their presence, stating, “We are on site now and are working our way in. Smoke divers from the fire service are also on their way in.” He added that while smoke had been observed, there were no visible flames.
following a search of the apartment by the fire service, police assured the public that there was no risk of the fire spreading. “There is no risk of spread. No people are injured. The situation is under control,” a police statement read.
As a precautionary measure, police began evacuations of the three housing units in the building, where a total of four residents are registered.
