## Interview with Dr. [Alex Reed Name]

**[Host]:** Dr. [Alex Reed Name], thank you for joining us today. Bulgaria is bracing for some pretty severe weather tomorrow, with code orange alerts issued for nine regions. Can you give our viewers a rundown of what they can expect?

**[Dr. Alex Reed Name]:** That’s right. We are forecasting a importent winter weather event for Bulgaria tomorrow. The moast intense impacts will be felt in the nine regions under code orange alert: Vratsa, Gabrovo, Lovech, Montana, Pleven, Ruse, Smolyan, Sofia region, and Targovishte. These areas are expected to see heavy snowfall, perhaps leading to blizzard conditions, and significant accumulations. The rest of the country is also under a yellow code, meaning caution is advised due to a mix of rain and snow.

**[Host]:** That sounds like a real challenge, especially for people living in those code orange regions. can you elaborate on the potential impacts of this weather system?

**[Dr. Alex Reed Name]:** Absolutely. Heavy snowfall can disrupt transportation, making roads and highways treacherous. Power outages are also a possibility, especially in areas with downed trees or power lines. We urge residents to avoid unneeded travel and to prepare for potential power disruptions by having flashlights, batteries, and essential supplies on hand.

**[Host]:** What about temperatures?

**[Dr. Alex Reed Name]:** Temperatures will vary considerably across the country. We anticipate a chilly day with highs ranging from a chilly minus 1° Celsius in western Bulgarian valleys to a milder 8°-10° celsius along the Black Sea coast. However,

wind chill will make it feel even colder. mountainous regions will experience the coldest temperatures, with highs hovering around 0° Celsius at 1,200 meters and dropping to around minus 3° Celsius at 2,000 meters.

**[Host]:** And what about coastal areas?

**[Dr. Alex Reed Name]: ** Coastal areas will see cloudy skies, rain, and strong northeastern winds. Maximum temperatures will be between 10° and 12° Celsius.

**[Host]:** Are there any specific areas that you are particularly concerned about?

**[dr. Alex Reed Name]:** We are particularly concerned about the higher elevations, as they are expected to experience blizzard conditions with strong winds and heavy snow. Mountain passes may become impassable, so travel in those areas should be avoided if possible.

**[Host]:** What can people do to prepare for this winter weather?

**[Dr. Alex Reed Name]:** It’s imperative for residents to stay informed about the latest weather updates and follow the advice of local authorities.

Charge your electronic devices, stock up on essential supplies like food, water, and batteries, and consider option heating sources in case of power outages. Most importantly, be cautious

and avoid unnecessary travel, especially in affected areas.
