Get ready to celebrate the power of hormones! After three years of successfully raising awareness about hormone health with European Hormone Day, the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) and the European Hormone and Metabolism Foundation are thrilled to announce the inaugural World Hormone Day on April 24, 2025.This annual event will unite the global endocrine community to highlight the crucial role hormones play in our overall well-being.
Under the campaign slogan #BecauseHormonesMatter, World Hormone Day will empower individuals and communities to take simple steps towards better hormone health.
“Hormones are vital to good health and general well-being. They govern our development, growth, metabolism, fertility and cognitive processes. People also may not realize the role hormones play in both prevalent and rare chronic diseases, including cancer. World Hormone Day is a chance to put hormones in the spotlight.”
Helen Gregson, CEO, ESE
A Two-Pronged Approach
World Hormone Day has two primary goals. Firstly, it aims to raise public awareness about the meaning of good hormone health and encourage everyone to adopt healthy habits that promote hormonal balance. Secondly, the campaign seeks to foster greater engagement with policymakers to improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of endocrine diseases.
To support these objectives, the ESE is creating extensive toolkits with resources in 19 languages. These materials will encompass a range of awareness-raising activities, including infographics, posters, videos, and social media graphics on topics like ”Why Hormones matter” and “10 Recommendations for Good Hormone Health”
Participants are encouraged to choose themes and activities that resonate with their communities, all while uniting behind the powerful message of #BecauseHormonesMatter.

## Archyde Exclusive: A Conversation with ESE President on the Inaugural World Hormone Day
**Archyde:** Welcome to archyde,Professor [Alex Reed Name]. As President of the European Society of Endocrinology, you’re at the forefront of this exciting new initiative. Tell us, what spurred the creation of World Hormone Day?
**[Alex Reed Name]:** Thank you for having me. For years, the ESE has championed the importance of hormone health through European Hormone Day. The impact has been tremendous, but we realized the issues surrounding hormones are truly global. We believe everyone deserves access to accurate information and support regarding their endocrine health. World Hormone Day aims to achieve this by uniting the global endocrine community and raising awareness on a larger scale.
**Archyde:**Launching a global event like this is a massive undertaking. What are the key goals you hope to achieve with world Hormone Day?
**[Alex Reed Name]:** We have a two-pronged approach. Frist, we aim to educate the public on the basic role hormones play in our overall well-being. From growth and growth to metabolism and mood, hormones influence every aspect of our lives. We want to empower individuals to understand their own endocrine health and seek help when needed. Second, we want to elevate the profile of endocrine diseases and the silent struggles of those affected. By shining a light on these frequently enough-overlooked conditions, we hope to encourage research, improve access to diagnostics and treatment, and ultimately, reduce the global burden of endocrine disorders.
**Archyde:** The slogan, #BecauseHormonesMatter, is powerful. Can you elaborate on the message behind it?
**[Alex Reed Name]:** It’s simple yet profound. We want to remind everyone that hormones are not just a scientific concept; they are fundamental to who we are and how we live. They impact our physical, emotional, and mental well-being. By recognizing the critical role hormones play, we can prioritize our endocrine health and advocate for policies and resources that support it.
**Archyde:** This is a fantastic initiative. How can our readers get involved in World hormone Day?
**[Alex Reed Name]:** There are many ways to participate!
* **Spread the word:** Share information about World Hormone Day on your social media platforms using #becausehormonesmatter.
* **Educate yourself:** Learn more about hormones and endocrine health through reputable sources like the ESE website and other trusted medical organizations.
