Houston ‌radio listeners have a new station to ‌tune into, as Spanish Broadcasting ⁣System (SBS) officially launched La Ley 92.1 this afternoon.The station,formerly known as Gospel “Praise 92.1” KROI, ⁣will feature a Regional Mexican format, bringing the sounds of Grupo Frontera, Carín León, Julión ​Álvarez, Banda⁣ MS, Intocable, and Los Ángeles Azules to ⁣the airwaves.

The launch comes after ‌a lengthy⁤ acquisition process. SBS initially agreed to purchase KROI from⁤ Radio One’s Sugarland Station Trust in August 2023 ⁤for $7.5 ⁣million ⁣ [[1](https://developer.wordpress.org/apis/rewrite/)}. ‍Though, when the deal to⁤ fund the acquisition through the sale of ​SBS’s MegaTV ⁤division fell apart, the two parties renegotiated, leading to a payment plan that⁢ culminated in today’s closing.

Initially, we planned to fund the purchase through the sale ​of our MegaTV division, but that deal didn’t materialize as expected. This required us to renegotiate with Radio One and ultimately create a payment plan that worked for both parties. We’re very pleased⁤ to have reached a triumphant resolution.
