Focus on Global Challenges and MSME Empowerment
Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto explained that one of the summit’s primary objectives is to address current global geopolitical challenges, notably the ongoing conflict in Gaza. “The first thing is to align steps to face the global geopolitical situation today…including what is happening in the Middle East, in Gaza, as the spirit of developing countries is aligned to support Palestine,” Hartarto stated. The summit will also focus on empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in member countries. Hartarto noted Indonesia’s expertise in MSME empowerment, especially in digitalization, as an asset that can be shared with other D8 nations. Rather than emphasizing large investments, the summit aims to create collaborative market opportunities among member countries, according to hartarto.## Indonesia’s Subianto Seeks Collaboration at D8 Summit
