Bengaluru Techie’s Death Sparks Outrage After Allegations of Extortion, Wife’s Family Arrested
A 34-year-old software engineer in Bengaluru tragically took his own life, leaving behind a 40-page suicide note that detailed allegations of extortion and mental torture by his wife and her family. This heartbreaking incident has ignited a firestorm of outrage online, with many users demanding justice for the deceased and accountability from the techie’s wife.
A Harrowing Tale of Extortion and Despair
The techie’s heart-wrenching video, shared online before his death, painted a devastating picture of his emotional and financial struggles. He alleged that his wife, after leaving their Bengaluru home with their four-year-old son, began demanding large sums of money from him, threatening him with legal repercussions if he refused.
Fearful and desperate, the techie claimed that he was relentlessly pursued by a series of lawsuits from his wife’s side, accusing him and his family of attempting murder, dowry harassment, and sexual misconduct. These legal battles forced him to travel back and forth between Bengaluru and his home state of Uttar Pradesh over 40 times in a single year, adding to his mental and financial strain.
In his final note, filled with anguish and despair, the grieving father requested that a gift he had purchased be delivered to his son after his passing, a testament to his enduring love even in the face of tragedy.
Police Intervene, Arresting a Family
Police have taken swift action, registering a case against the techie’s wife, her mother, brother, and uncle under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Section 108 (abetment of suicide).
“We have booked them under Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) section 108 (abetment of suicide) and launched an investigation,” Marathahalli police inspector Anil Kumar stated.
His suicide has reinvigorated the conversation surrounding domestic disputes and the persistent challenges faced by men in similar situations. Online communities, prompted by the techie’s video and suicide note, have expressed their solidarity, showering him with support and raising questions about the systemic issues that allowed this tragedy to unfold.
