Escalating Partnerships Raise Concerns as Biden Prepares for Transition
The Biden administration is finalizing a playbook for handling what it sees as increasingly concerning military entertainment. The memorandum will advise quotas on how the incoming administration should approach the tightening relationships between the US and its most prominent antagonists and competitors: China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia.
While they haven’t been publicly disclosed, officials who worked on the confidential memo have detailed four key areas it focuses on. Improving cooperation among US government agencies is top of the list, followed by accelerating the sharing of information with allies about the four nations involved. The memo also advises calibrating how sanctions and other economic consequences are used against these countries to maximize efficiency, and enhancing the ability to respond testimoniestional crises that arise.
