The Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA) recently unveiled its new board, ushering in a fresh chapter for the organization and signaling a renewed focus on Hthe challenges and opportunities facing South Africa’s digital landscape.

New Faces, Fresh Ideas

Among the highlights are two new appointments, Ntokozo Mbonani and Doreen Mokoena, who bring valuable expertise and diverse perspectives to ISPA’s leadership team. “ISPA looks forward to new ideas and fresh perspectives over the coming term,” the organization stated, underscoring its commitment to innovation and growth.

The board will operate with a slightly leaner structure, while expressing gratitude to outgoing board members Cheryl Dinkelmann, Gideon le Grange, and André van der Walt for their contributions. “Their tenure as ISPA board members leaves the Internet in South Africa stronger,” ISPA said in a statement, acknowledging the lasting impact of their service.

Experienced Leadership at the Helm

A seasoned group of leaders was reelected to crucial roles on the board. Dave Gale, Jerry Maleka, and Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi will continue to lend their expertise, ensuring continuity and stability within the organization.

Sasha Booth-Beharilal returns as chairperson, providing steadfast guidance, while Enzio von Diest will serve as deputy chairperson, offering crucial support and insight. “The new Board members are elected to serve a three-year term. Board members are eligible to serve for a maximum of six consecutive years, and then become ineligible for further reappointment until one year has passed,” ISPA stated, outlining the board’s structure and term limits.
