A Legacy Forged in the Sunset Strip’s Fire
Bulletboys clawed their way to fame alongside many other notable acts of the late 80’s
Emerging from the vibrant Los Angeles music scene at the height of glam metal’s reign, Bulletboys seized the hearts of music fans worldwide. Their unique blend of gritty hard rock and blues influence set them apart.
Comparisons to titans like Aerosmith and Van Halen paved the way for a major-label contract with Warner Bros. Records.
Their self-titled debut in 1988 blazed the trail for success, hitting number 34 on the Billboard 200. Smash singles “For the Love of Money” and “Smooth Up in Ya” blazed the airwaves, solidifying Bulletboys’ place on MTV’s rotation.
The band continued to churn out albums (Freakshow in 1991 and Za-Za in 1993), showcasing their ongoing evolution as musicians.
Reunions, Departures, and a Miraculous Comeback
After a period of activity and a reunion five years ago, drummer Fred Aching joined Torien, Vencent, and guitarist Mick Sweda (who subsequently departured the band in recent years) for a triumphant return, selling out the legendary Whisky A Go Go.
Now, with a revamped lineup and a hunger for more, Bulletboys are poised to reclaim their spot in rock history. As they gear up for a new era, there’s little doubt that 2025 will be a pivotal year for the band and their loyal fans.
