Samsung Rolls Out December 2024 Security Update for Galaxy S24 Series
Samsung has commenced the rollout of the December 2024 security update for the Galaxy S24 series, bringing a host of security enhancements and performance improvements to the flagship devices.
Stable Build Now Available in Korea
The stable December 2024 security update is initially available for Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra users in Korea. Samsung plans to gradually expand the rollout to other regions in the near future. Users can verify their firmware version through the Settings app.

Strengthened Security Measures
The December 2024 security patch addresses over 45 vulnerabilities, significantly bolstering the security of the Galaxy S24 line. This includes six critical vulnerabilities and 28 high-level vulnerabilities sourced from Google’s security patches. Additionally, Samsung has addressed two high-level vulnerabilities in its own semiconductor products.
Furthermore, Samsung has released eight patches under its Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) program. These patches cover a range of potential security weaknesses in features like the Theme Center, Galaxy Watch Bluetooth connectivity, SmartSwitch data transfer, and Dex Mode.

“If you have received a notification prompting you to install a software update, proceeding with the installation is highly recommended. It’s crucial to keep your device secure by implementing these critical security improvements as quickly as possible,” said a三星 representative.
To manually check for the update, navigate to the Settings app on your Galaxy S24 and select the Software Update option. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it.
