Tightened tensions between Israel and Syria escalated after Israel allegedly launched airstrikes on several Syrian army barracks, prompting condemnation from the UN envoy and

United Nations Calls for Immediate Ceasefire
The escalation drew immediate condemnation from the UN. Geir Pedersen, the UN envoy for Syria, heavily criticised the Israeli actions, calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities and
a return to diplomatic solutions.
“These types of military actions exacerbate an already fragile situation in Syria. We need to prioritize de-escalation and dialogue, not further violence. This is a call for
restraint from all parties involved, to choose diplomacy and the safety of the Syrian people,”
said Pedersen, expressing deep concern over the situation.
The strikes also come at a time when Syria is grappling with a complex humanitarian crisis,
adding further weight to calls for de-escalation and a return to dialogue.
Israel Deploys Specialist Units Across the Border
Adding further complexity to the situation, Israeli officials confirmed the deployment of paragliders, special forces, and intelligence operatives into Syrian
territory. The move coincided with the fall of the Assad regime and claims of an increase in Iranian aggression along the border.
“This is a carefully calculated operation aimed at securing the safety of our country, and the freedom of Israel was regained and would secure its borders
