Addressing Youth Distress: Community Meeting in Montedoro

Addressing Youth Distress: A Community Effort in Montedoro

This Sunday, December 15th at 5 pm, the parish hall of the Santa Maria del Rosario church in Montedoro will host a crucial meeting focusing on a pressing issue: how can the community effectively address the needs of its youth.

Organized under the auspices of the provincial Auser of Caltanissetta, Apuzer of Vallone, and the parish itself, the gathering is intended for young people, their families, along with social workers, educators, and various institutions involved in supporting youth.

Alberto Mantra, coordinator of Auser del Vallone, will be opening the forum. Numerous prominent individuals will contribute to the discussions. Father Massimiliano Novembre, the archpriest of Montedoro, will offer an initial reflection. Following him will be Salvatore Pelonero, president of Auser del Nisseno, along with the mayors of Montedoro, Bompensiere, and Milena who will deliver welcome remarks.

Youth voices will be centered throughout the event. Francsalo Salvo, class representative of the Luigi Pirandello school, will speak on behalf of young people, followed by Valeria Rita Vella, director of the Filippo Puglisi Comprehensive Institute, and Dr. Carmelo Benfante Picogna, technical director of the Regional School Office for Sicily.

This demonstrably devastating issue requires more than words.

This important meeting offering candidates for young participants, will explore not only causes of youth hardship, but most importantly, how the community can effectively respond.

It is the culmination of dedicated community leadership.

The impact of such communal effort is anticipated to be impactful.
