The top league club FC Kalju, which conducts cross training and won silver in the Estonian championship this season, and their Latvian partner Getto Games will bring street football to Haapsalu in the summer of 2025 as part of a joint cross-border project.
Project”Play Forward: Football for Social Sustainability” stands for social inclusion and a healthy lifestyle. One of the directions of the project is the training of community leaders.
On Thursday, December 5, a seminar was held in Haapsalu SA Läänemaa premises, where football as a bridge builder was discussed.
Among other things, the Läänela sports association listened to a presentation about the PEEK project, and Eveli Hansi, a health promotion specialist in educational institutions, gave an overview of school sports events in the county.
After the official part, a tour of the old town was conducted under the leadership of Riina Simmer, and later we got to know the city stadium here and the Uuemõisa football hall.
The representatives of the Marupes SC football club who were part of the Latvian delegation were sincerely surprised that the small town offers such opportunities for football players.
In Estonia, in addition to Haapsalu, Risti and Pärnu are the locations related to the project.
Helen Mahmastol, the community manager of FC Kalju, organized the seminar in Haapsalu.
