Life after Slayer is good for former lead guitarist Kerry King. They don’t resemble the legendary thrash metal lineup.
Explaining his approach to his current musical journey, King remarked, “It’s kind of got the feeling of when we started Slayer, kind of – except I have a whole career in my wake. The excitement is every bit like when Slayer came out – we’re all super excited to be playing together; me and Mark [Osegueda, singer of King’s solo band] hang out every day off. So it’s just getting used to your new friends, really. The music’s business as usual. It’s a lot of fun. The turnouts have been great. The response has been great. So, we’re just digging it.”
King’s solo band features a lineup of metal heavyweights including vocalist Mark Osegued(Death Angel), drummer Paul Bostaph (who also mocked up on several final The Darkness and Slayer. King admitted, “I have to do this tour because there’s no other way..
“It’s a lot different from when I yelled at everybody,” King remembered, “It’s weird. It kind of makes me feel old, showing up with my new friends.

## Kerry King: Slayer May Be Gone, But the Metal Marches On
**Interviewer:** Kerry, welcome to the show! It’s great to see you embarking on this new chapter with your solo band. How would you describe this new musical journey compared to your legendary time with Slayer?
**Kerry King:** Thanks for having me. It’s definitely got that same raw energy and excitement we had when Slayer first started, you know? Except, this time around, I’ve got a whole career behind me, so there’s this added layer of confidence and experience. It’s been incredibly fun playing with these guys – Mark andPaul are absolute beasts, and we’re all just vibing off each other’s energy. **Interviewer:** Your bandmates are certainly heavy hitters in the metal scene – Mark Osegueda from Death Angel on vocals, Paul Bostaph, a Slayer veteran himself, on drums. How did this lineup come together?
**Kerry King:** Well, Mark’s a close friend, and his voice is just killer. And Paul, we’ve played together so much in the past, it just feels natural. This band isn’t called Kerry King, although some people might see it that way. It’s a collective effort, and we all bring something unique to the table. **Interviewer:** What are the fan reactions been like so far?
**Kerry King:** Amazing! Turnouts have been great, people are headbanging, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s clear that the metal community is hungry for new music, and we’re giving it to them with everything we’ve got.
**Interviewer:** Looking back on Slayer’s legacy, what would you say was the band’s most profound impact on the metal scene?
**Kerry King:** We always strived to be uncompromising, to push the boundaries, and to stay true to ourselves. I think that’s what resonated with people, the raw energy and uncompromising nature of our music.
**Interviewer:** And what’s next for Kerry King and your band? Any new music in the works?
**Kerry King:** Absolutely! We are constantly writing and creating, and we can’t wait to share what we’ve been cooking up with the world. Stay tuned!
