Celebrating the Magic of Cinema
The Amper cinema’s accomplishment comes as part of the FFF’s annual initiative to acknowledge Bavarian cinemas that demonstrate excellence in film programming.
“This day was a great experience, we are very happy about this recognition,” the Amper operators remarked the day after the ceremony.
Their sentiment was echoed by Bavarian media minister Florian Herrmann, who serves as chairman of the FFF supervisory board. Presenting the award, Herrmann emphasized the significance of the cinematic experience: “Nowhere can you experience films better than in the cinema. These are very emotionally charged and memorable experiences that you remember for a long time. Cinemas are not only cultural and interpersonal meeting places with a unique flair, but also an enrichment of our cultural diversity.”
The ceremony also highlighted the broader need to support and preserve the diversity of cinema experiences. Martin Hartung, deputy managing director of the FFF, underscored the Amper-Lichtspielhaus’ role as an exemplary model for generations.
Christine Berg, CEO of the Main Association of German Film Theaters, further emphasized the importance of providing sustained assistance to cinemas, ensuring their continued prominence in the cultural landscape.
