The authorities have intensified control measures during the December festivities, especially for this weekend.

During the first days of December, there have been six structural fires caused by fuse balloons, as well as an incident with a flyer that affected a home.

Faced with this, Carlos Quintero, director of the Administrative Department of Risk Management (DAGREB), called for caution, especially on the night of the candles.

Quintero urged citizens to be especially careful with candles and candles, avoiding handling them near domestic gas or hot liquids.

In addition, he recommended not overloading electrical installations and maintaining constant supervision of children.

In parallel, 1,200 uniformed members of the Aburrá Valley Police will be deployed during the night of candles and other celebrations, covering the 16 communes and five townships of the city.

The operation also includes surveillance of 54 tourist areas, with the aim of preventing theft and the marketing of adulterated liquor.

Since the beginning of December, the Metropolitan Police has seized 957 kilos of gunpowder and, as part of the Christmas Plan, 500 security personnel will be deployed in key municipalities and the six roads of Antioquia to strengthen tranquility during the season.
