I came into the world at 51cm and 3,510 kg.”
However, behind the celebratory announcement lay a childbirth experience Lacroix described as “horrible.”
While initially aiming for a natural, organic birth, Lacroix’s expectations were dashed. After enduring almost 30 hours of labor, her journey culminated in an emergency cesarean section. “Everything that can happen isn’t great,” she confided, “I’ve had it all.”
The experience was intense and alarming. Recalling the events, she explained, “I lost a lot of blood. I was at the end of my rope. They didn’t transfuse me but it was close. I really, really experienced a horrible thing.” Drawing a stark comparison to her idealized vision, she added, “It’s very strange, I wanted something very organic. I wanted something very girl of the forest, something with midwives, doulas, nature. In the end, it ended up in Doctor House, butchery, you hear that it opens your stomach. And then she says ‘wow there are way too many abs, bring me the sucker’. It’s not great, you see?”
Though grateful for the medical team’s expertise and support, celebrating the health of both her newborn and herself, Lacroix candidly admitted the experience left her profoundly shaken. The aftermath of the physical ordeal further compounded her emotional state. The hours spent recovering alone, separated from her newborn son, proved emotionally challenging.
“In the end, you suddenly find yourself all alone,” she lamented. “You are no longer pregnant. You no longer have your baby next to you. You find yourself all alone waiting for hours because we are in the process of sewing you up. Emotionally, it’s hard.”
Despite the difficult experience, Lacroix remains focused on her motherhood journey. She has actively engaged with fans online, addressing concerns about her son’s own Instagram account and providing updates on their well-being.
