Apple Pay Expands to Uruguay, Further Expanding its South American Presence
Even in its 10th year, Apple Pay continues to expand its reach, entering new markets around the globe.
The latest to join the roster is Uruguay, according to Apple server sleuth Aaron, who shared the development publicly on X.

This expansion follows closely on the heels of Apple’s activation of its mobile payment service in neighboring South American country Paraguay less than a month ago.
With the launch in Uruguay, Apple Pay is now available in six South American countries. The other countries in the region offering Apple Pay include Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Colombia.
Apple Reinventing Its Payment Strategy
Meanwhile, Apple is restructuring its approach to installment payments, replacing its discontinued Apple Pay Later service with integration from third-party services.
