A Master of Modern Meets Traditional

Milanese architect turned interior designer Fabrizio Casiraghi is known for his masterful blend of modern and traditional elements. “It’s the first project we made together completely from scratch since he got to know us so well,” explains Nicolas Gabrillargues, who, along with his husband Bastien Daguzan, asked Casiraghi to reimagine a 17th-century apartment in the Marais. “He came with many different ideas and pushed us to do something more crazy than we thought.”

This Parisian project exemplifies Casiraghi’s ability to seamlessly interweave historical details with contemporary flair. Where others might follow a strict historical style, Casiraghi opted for a bold, modern vision, accented by carefully chosen touches

that pay homage to the past. “The panels were quite expensive and a big part of our budget,” says Daguzan of the striking metal wall panels that make a statement in the apartment,” but Casiraghi said, ‘You choose everything else you want, but we keep them. I think he was right because it brings a bit of modernity into the flat with the more old-style decoration, which we love.”
