Singer Jenifer recently opened up about a deeply personal subject, sharing her experience with miscarriage for the first time.
During a recent interview on France Inter, the singer discussed her music and her latest project, “Jukebox 2002-2012,” a reimagined collection celebrating two decades of her musical journey. While promoting the album, Jenifer reflected on the profound impact of music and shared a poignant personal story. She revealed that Eric Clapton’s song “Tears in Heaven,” which speaks to the pain of losing a child, had resonated deeply with her own experiences.
“Becoming a mother, I understood the depth of this title. I dared to imagine what it would be like to lose a child… I don’t know if I could survive,” she confessed, her voice filled with emotion.
The “Star Academy” winner said that music, and specifically this song, offered her comfort and a path toward healing. She shared her experience of miscarriage, a pain hitherto kept private.
“This song unlocked things in me. It’s very intimate what I’m going to say, but I’ve already had miscarriages. I had this feeling of having lost a loved one,” she revealed, visibly shaken.
“These are very intense pains. We plan ahead from the first moments,” Jenifer explains. “These thoughts come back sometimes, but we learn to move forward.”
Jenifer acknowledged the profound impact this music had on her journey of healing. She expressed gratitude for the support of her husband, Ambroise.

The couple has found joy in their family life, welcoming their son Juvanni in 2021. He joins Ambroise and Jenifer joins with Aaron, born in 2003 from Jenifer’s relationship with Maxim Nucci, and Joseph, born in 2014 from Materially with Thierry Neuvic hon.
