Devastating Drone Attack in Ternopil: Casualties Reported
On the night of December 2nd, the city of Ternopil sover suffered a brutal drone attack by enemy forces which resulted in a tragic fire in a residential building. Confirmations from officials revealed that numerous civilians sustained serious injuries, and tragically, at least one life was lost in the devastating assault.
The attack unfolded as residents of Ternopil were responding to air raid sirens, signaling an imminent threat from Russian drones. Mayor Sergei Nadal, using his telegram channel, immediately urged citizens to seek immediate shelter.
Minutes later, reports emerged of an explosion echoing through the city, followed by confirmation from Mayor Nadal that a residential building had been directly hit by an enemy drone.
Rescue crews descended upon the scene, where a raging fire engulfed apartments on the top floor, and was rapidly spreading …to parts of the third and fourth floors as well. As of 3:56 am local time, Mayor Nadal offered a somber update on the unfolding tragedy:
“After an enemy UAV hit an apartment building, the fire engulfed apartments on the top 5th floor
and parts of the third and fourth floors. At this moment, rescue and special services are
still working.”
Vyacheslav Negoda, head of the Ternopil OVA, corroborated the severity of the situation, reporting numerous injured citizens. He confirmed that rescue crews were dedicated to extinguishing the blaze, while also overseeing a controlled evacuation of the area.
“Doctors are doing everything possible to save the wounded,” Nadal said in a later update, “We are preparing a place for the temporary stay of Ternopil residents whose apartments were damaged.”
