Senegal Invests in Education and Support for Youth Olympic Games 2026
Senegal marked a key milestone in its preparation for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games by entering into a significant partnership. The Ministry of National Education (MEN) and the Organizing Committee (COJOG) jointly announced a partnership agreement aimed at leveraging the global sporting event to drive positive educational outcomes.

“The collaboration between the two parties will allow for the development of programs, projects and activities such as the organization of the civic and sports Olympic Brevet and "facilitate" the participation of students", explained Minister Guirassy perfectly echoing the spirit of the event,” said a representative of the committee. “It will supporting the implementation of ‘a real policy of rehabilitation and construction of school sports infrastructures.”
Minister Moustapha Guirassy emphasized the multifaceted benefits of the Games: “The partnership agreement between the MEN and the COJOG also aims to prepare "the participation of Senegalese schools in the Olympic Flame relay throughout the national territory and the promotion of traditional local sports, as an element of heritage of the YOG Dakar 2026, and the Minister assured of the “unfailing” support of her department, main beneficiary of the Youth Olympic Games, intended for young people aged 15 to 18.**"
