Margot Robbie has revealed why she insisted on being completely nude in a scene in The Wolf of Wall Street and how she hit Leonardo DiCaprio too hard during the audition.
Robbie, 34, revealed that director Martin Scorsese was all for making changes to the scene for her comfort, but she insisted otherwise.
“But I said, ‘That’s not what she would do in that scene. The whole point is that she’s going to come out completely naked—that’s the card she’s playing’,” Robbie said.
Speaking on the Talking Pictures podcast, she recalled her audition process for the role, saying, “My managers made me redo my audition tape five times because it wasn’t good enough.”
In the audition scene, she thought, “I could kiss Leonardo DiCaprio right now, and that would be awesome.” She continued: “I can’t wait to tell all of my friends this. And then I thought… nah. And just walloped him in the face.”
