Police Investigating Second Incident Involving Group Who Attacked Former Coyotes’ Player

Phoenix Golf Course Fight May Be Connected to Scottsdale Assault of Former NHL Player

A video circulating online shows a brawl at a Phoenix golf course, potentially involving the same individuals who allegedly attacked former NHL player Paul Bissonnette at a Scottsdale restaurant last weekend. The video, which was posted on Twitter, shows a man throwing punches and assaulting multiple people. The person who posted the video claimed it was filmed at the Raven Country Club last weekend.

Bissonnette, who played for the Arizona Coyotes from 2009 to 2014, believes the men in the video are the same ones who assaulted him. He shared the video on his own social media channels, claiming the group is responsible for the earlier attack. Scottsdale police confirmed they are aware of the incident at the golf course and are investigating a possible connection to the Scottsdale assault.

“We are aware of an incident at a golf club in Phoenix that may involve our suspects,” Scottsdale Police said in a statement. “Our detectives are reviewing our case and working with Phoenix Police Department to see if the incidents are related to the same suspects.”

Two separate incidents are being investigated. Scottsdale police arrested six men in connection with the attack at a Houston’s Restaurant last weekend near Scottsdale Fashion Square. The attack sent Bissonnette to the hospital, but he later relayed on his podcast Spittin’ Chiclets that he was okay.

Bissonnette recounted the Scottsdale incident on his podcast, saying he was at his usual table when he noticed the restaurant staff engaged in a heated argument with several men wearing golf shirts. He further explained that the patrons became aggressive towards the restaurant managers because they refused to serve them alcohol.

According to Bissonnette, he attempted to de-escalate the situation, trying to get the men to leave. “I get up and I go over, and I walk over, I grab the guy’s arm. I said, ‘Listen, buddy, if you keep harassing and assaulting the staff here, we’re gonna go outside and we’re gonna have some problems,’” he recounted on the podcast. “The minute that left my mouth, the guy beside him starts throwing punches.”

At that point, a brawl broke out inside the Scottsdale restaurant, spilling outside into the parking lot.

The six men are now facing charges of disorderly conduct.

The Phoenix Police Department has not commented publicly on the incident at the Raven Country Club. The club was contacted but declined to make a statement due to the ongoing investigation. Bissonnette remained unavailable for further comment.
