Anzoátegui FC advanced to its first final of the Futve 2 League (under this name) and will fight for the spot for promotion to the first division of national football with Yaracuyanos FC.
The decisive instance already has defined schedules and, as reported by the league through social networks, the first leg will be played at the Florentino Oropeza stadium in San Felipe next Saturday, November 23 at 3:30 pm.
The return match, where the team that will rise to the gold category of Venezuelan soccer will be known, will take place on November 30 – starting at 7:00 pm – at the renovated José Antonio Anzoátegui Olympic stadium in the Barcelona axis -Puerto La Cruz.
hard road
Anzoátegui FC has had a tough road to reach this stage for the first time under this name. It is worth remembering that when the team was called Academia Anzoátegui FC it played the final of the 2022 season, where it lost to Angostura FC.
In the 2024 campaign, those led by Alexis Jordán went from less to more and managed to climb positions in the Central-Eastern Group. In the second semester they fell into a slump in which victories were few and Atlético La Cruz took advantage of this to come back and equal them on points and stay in fourth place, the last place that gave classification.
However, due to administrative issues, the ticket to the quarterfinals was awarded to Anzoátegui, who finished fifth with the worst goal differential.
Already in the stage of the best eight, Anzoátegui left Marítimo de La Guaira on the road, which started as a favorite after finishing leader of the Central-Oriental Group in the regular round.
In the semifinals, the Anzoatiguenses beat Trujillanos FC, in a match that was decided on penalties. In the first leg the Orientals won 2-0 and in the second leg they fell 3-1, forcing a 12-minute decision where they ended up winning.
Now the next obstacle on the way to the first division is Yaracuyanos FC, which left the other Anzoatiguense team, Dynamo Puerto FC, out of the race.

## Anzoátegui FC Falls in First Leg of Futve 2 Final
**Interviewer:** Welcome back to the show. Joining us today is Alex Reed, local sports analyst, to discuss the first leg of the Futve 2 League final between Anzoátegui FC and Yaracuyanos FC.
**Alex Reed:** Thanks for having me.
**Interviewer:** Anzoátegui, making their first appearance in a Futve 2 final, unfortunately fell in the first leg against Yaracuyanos. Can you tell us what happened?
**Alex Reed:** Yes, unfortunately, it wasn’t the start Anzoátegui was hoping for. They lost 1-0 in a tightly contested match at the Florentino Oropeza Stadium in San Felipe [[1](https://eltiempove.com/anzoategui-fc-arranco-la-final-de-la-liga-futve-2-con-derrota-por-la-minima/)]. A goal from Stibenson Herrera proved to be the difference maker for Yaracuyanos.
**Interviewer:** This puts Anzoátegui at a disadvantage going into the second leg. What does the team need to do to turn things around?
**Alex Reed:** Absolutely. They have their work cut out for them. Anzoátegui will need to regroup and find a way to break down the Yaracuyanos defense in the second leg. Scoring early will be crucial to shift the momentum.
**Interviewer:** And that second leg is set for [date and time of second leg], correct?
**Alex Reed:** That’s right. It’s all to play for in the second leg.
