Red Bull racing TECHNICIAN Gianpiero Lambiase revealed that the consistency of his colleague, Max Verstappen, was the main asset in becoming Formula 1 world champion four times in a row.
“This year shows many similarities with (Verstappen’s performance) in 2021. The battle (this season) is very fierce,” said Lambiase on the Formula 1 website, Wednesday (27/11).
Verstappen defended his world title this year after finishing fifth at the Las Vegas GP last week, which was enough for him to lock up the world title. His main competitor, McLaren racer Lando Norris, only finished sixth.

“The foundation we had at the start of the year strengthened everything, but he has taken a long step which for you must have been very difficult
trusted, starting from what he does in this team with all of us, and the respect he gives to other racers,” said Lambiase.
“He also fought hard in every race. I am very proud of him,” he continued.
Lambiase and Verstappen have worked together since the Dutch driver was promoted to Red Bull in 2016. That relationship will continue next year with Lambiase’s promotion to head of the racing division.
Red Bull Team Director Christian Horner appreciated Verstappen’s relationship with Lambiase as the basis for the Dutch racer’s success, especially in the 2024 season.
“They have tried hard and (Verstappen) could not have done it without the support he got in the garage, in the team, in the factory,” concluded Horner. (Ant/Z-1)

**Host:** Welcome back to the show, folks! Today we’re diving into the world of Formula 1 and discussing the recent revelation about Max Verstappen’s continued dominance on the track. Joining me today is motorsport journalist, Sarah Jenkins, who’s been following Verstappen’s career closely. Welcome, Sarah!
**Sarah:** Thanks for having me! It’s always a pleasure to talk F1.
**Host:** So Sarah, we’ve all seen Verstappen’s incredible skill and raw talent, but recently, his Red Bull racing technician, Gianpiero Lambiase, highlighted something else as a key factor in Verstappen’s success – consistency. Can you elaborate on this?
**Sarah:** Absolutely. Lambiase pointed out that Verstappen doesn’t just have electrifying speed; he’s incredibly consistent. He minimizes mistakes, avoids risky maneuvers, and consistently delivers strong performances race after race. This level of consistency allows him to rack up points and stay ahead in the championship, even when he’s not necessarily the fastest car on the track.
**Host:** That’s fascinating! So, it’s not just about having the fastest car or occasional bursts of brilliance. It’s about consistently performing at a high level?
**Sarah:** Exactly. In a sport as demanding as Formula 1, consistency is often what separates the good drivers from the truly great ones. Verstappen’s dedication to this approach is a testament to his professionalism and maturity as a competitor.
**Host:** It seems like a valuable lesson for anyone, not just race car drivers.
**Sarah:** Absolutely! Whether you’re an athlete, a student, or a professional, consistency is key to long-term success.
**Host:** Well said, Sarah. Thanks for sharing your insights on this.
