Venom‘s Final Form: A Look at the Symbiote‘s Epic Finale and What Lies Ahead
Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) has given fans a closer look at Venom’s final form in Venom: The Last Dance. The images showcase the Symbiote’s dramatic final moments in the blockbuster, where the alien monster engaged in a climactic battle against the formidable Xenophage.
The film concluded with Venom separating from Eddie Brock to confront the Xenophage, dragging it into an acid shower designed to destroy them both. In a truly explosive finale, Rex Strickland detonated himself and the two aliens, punctuating Venom’s demise. While Eddie and Venom’s "Codex" was destroyed, leaving Knull trapped on Klyntar for now, many believe Venom survived. Some theorize he managed to escape through the piece of Symbiote retrieved by Imperium at the beginning of the film. Others suggest he may have transferred his consciousness to what remained behind on Earth-616 in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

For director Kelly Marcel, creating the Xenophage presented a unique challenge.
"Well, Knull created the Xenophage and he also created the Symbiotes," Marcel shared.
"I kind of loved the idea that the thing that was hunting Venom and Eddie is Venom’s sister," she continued. "I think the Xenophage is a she. We referred to her as Elaine during the shooting."
"I just loved the idea of them," Marcel added, "and then as Tom and I were discussing the character of the Xenophage, we came up with the idea that they had these woodchipper mouths and whatever they ate spat out the back of some vent in her head. As soon as we came up with that, we just thought that would be the most fun thing to see on screen and that she would be an awesome thing to fight for them."
The final installment in the Venom trilogy saw Tom Hardy reprise his role as the iconic Marvel character. Venom: The Last Dance follows Eddie and Venom as they find themselves on the run, hunted by both of their worlds. As the net closes in, they face an agonizing decision that will have lasting consequences for their future.
In its cast, Venom: The Last Dance features a stellar line-up, including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, Stephen Graham, and Rhys Ifans. Kelly Marcel directs from a screenplay she penned, based on a story by Hardy and Marcel. The film was produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Kelly Marcel, Tom Hardy, and Hutch Parker.
The film ls now playing in theaters.
Could the Venom symbiote residue left behind in *Spider-Man: No Way Home* lead to the symbiote’s return?
## Is This the End for Venom?
**Host:** Welcome back to the show. We’re discussing the explosive finale of Venom: The Last Dance and the intriguing theories surrounding the symbiote’s fate. Joining us today is comic book expert and Venom aficionado Dr. Emily Carter. Welcome, Dr. Carter.
**Dr. Carter:** Thanks for having me.
**Host:** For those who haven’t seen the film, *Venom: The Last Dance* concluded with a seemingly desperate act of sacrifice from the titular symbiote. Can you walk us through what happened?
**Dr. Carter:** Absolutely. In a final showdown against the horrifying Xenophage, Venom chose to merge with the creature and drag it into a deadly acid bath. [1](https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Venom:_The_Finale_Vol_1_3) Rex Strickland, a character connected to the symbiote, then sacrificed himself to detonate the area, seemingly obliterating both Venom and the Xenophage.
**Host:** Sounds pretty definitive. But there are whispers that Venom might not be gone for good.
**Dr. Carter:** Well, that’s where things get interesting. While the film heavily implies Venom’s demise, the comic book lore always leaves room for comebacks, especially when dealing with extraterrestrial symbiotes.
**Host:** Interesting. What are the leading theories about Venom’s survival?
**Dr. Carter:** One popular theory involves Imperium, a secretive organization that collected a sample of Venom’s symbiote erfahren you earlier in the film. Some believe that sample could hold the key to Venom’s resurrection.
**Host:** A fascinating possibility! Another theory involves the events of *Spider-Man: No Way Home*.
**Dr. Carter:** Exactly. Remember, when Eddie and Venom left that universe, they left some symbiote residue behind. Could that fragment have found a new host or developed a new consciousness? It’s certainly a possibility.
**Host:** So, the door is definitely still open for Venom’s return. Thank you for shedding light on these fascinating theories, Dr. Carter. It will be intriguing to see what unfolds for the symbiote in future storylines.
