She further explained her decision in a statement released before her resignation: “Under the advice of my solicitor, I pleaded guilty – despite the fact this was a genuine mistake from which I did not make any gain. The magistrates accepted all of these arguments and gave me the lowest possible outcome (a discharge) available.”
Starmer Ledger a Replacement for Haigh
Keir Starmer announced Heidi Alexander, 49, as Haigh’s replacement. Alexander, who returned to Parliament in July’s general election following a six-year hiatus, brings significant experience to the role, having previously overseen London’s transport system at City Hall.
