North Jutland’s emergency services drove to the test center Østerild in Thisted on Thursday evening.
Here, a 190-metre crane weighing 200 tonnes was overturned on Testcentervej about 1.5 kilometers down a gravel road. The crane was close to a windmill.
– As we drive forward, we find out that it is a large mobile crane that has fallen over here. In that transfer, we are also told that there are no injuries and that the crane operator is out, says incident leader at North Jutland Emergency Services Henrik Gade Jespersen.
There were several people on the scene when the crane overturned.
– They were working out here, and there was also a construction manager, says the task leader, who points out, however, that no one got off in the wrong way in connection with the accident.
– There is of course someone who is shocked after this incident, he adds.

The crane is on a crawler, which the project manager explains is now pointing straight up in the air. As it stands on Thursday evening, it is not in danger.
2500 liters of oil
The first report was that there was also a fire at the site, but it had already been extinguished when the emergency services arrived.
– So the task really consists in picking up this diesel and hydraulic oil that runs out of it, says Henrik Gade Jespersen.
Initially, North Jutland Emergency Services wrote that 3,000 liters of hydraulic oil and 3,000 liters of diesel had been spilled. They have subsequently updated this information.
“We have stopped the spill and are currently working with a spill of 2,500 liters of hydraulics and diesel oil,” writes the emergency department at X.

On Thursday evening, the emergency services stopped the oil spill, and the sewage service will soak up the already spilled oil.
The emergency manager does not know why the crane overturned.
Jens Claumarch, chief of duty at the Central and West Jutland Police, tells TV Midtvest that the crane is from the crane company BMS. It overturned while a blade was being hoisted into a windmill.
– Whether it was installed incorrectly or he operated it incorrectly, we have to look into, says the warden to the media.
Station Frøstrup/Thisted has been driven to Brand Lastbil/Bus on Testcentervej.
The message sounds about an overturned crane, possible flames from the crane.
We are on the scene.
An additional 3,000 L of hydraulic oil and 3,000 L of diesel have been spilled.
