* What are the potential therapeutic benefits of using Earth’s electromagnetic frequencies as a basis for music therapy, as seen in the EMusic for Hospital Schools project?
## Interview: Capturing Earth’s Song
**Host:** Welcome back to the show. We’re thrilled today to be joined by [Guest Name], a music therapist who spearheaded the incredible “EMusic for Hospital Schools” project. Welcome to the program!
**[Guest Name]:** Thank you for having me.
**Host:** For our listeners who may not be familiar, can you tell us a little bit about EMusic for Hospital Schools?
**[Guest Name]:** Absolutely! EMusic for Hospital Schools is a project that allows young patients, specifically from Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital’s Oncohematology department, to engage in music creation inspired by the earth’s electromagnetic frequencies. We recorded these frequencies and used them as the foundation for the young composers’ musical explorations [Explain briefly the process of converting the frequencies to audible sounds].
**Host:** That’s fascinating! What was the experience like for the young patients involved?
**[Guest Name]:** It was truly remarkable. Fifty young patients participated. Some were timid at first, unsure of how to approach this unique form of composing. But as they began to listen to the Earth’s subterranean symphony - the very heartbeat of our planet – something shifted.
Their creativity blossomed. They started weaving their own voices into the soundscape, adding melodies, rhythms, and even vocalizations inspired by the frequencies. It was a beautiful process of discovery, both for them and for us as facilitators.
**Host:** What kind of impact did you see this project have on the young patients?
**[Guest Name]:** The response was truly heartwarming. We saw a genuine sense of empowerment and joy in these children. Music, as we know, can be incredibly therapeutic. But the element of connecting with the Earth’s natural song added a layer of wonder and grounding.
**Host:** How did the project culminate?
**[Guest Name]:** The culmination was a public performance of the composed pieces. It was a truly moving experience. Family and friends gathered at the Ospedale al Gianicolo to hear these young composers share their unique sonic tapestry, a beautiful blend of natural frequencies and human expression.
**Host:** Thank you so much for sharing this inspiring work with us, [Guest Name]. Your project is truly a testament to the healing power of music.
**[Guest Name]:** Thank you for having me.
