Anzoátegui FC advanced to its first final of the Futve 2 League (under this name) and will fight for the spot for promotion to the first division of national football with Yaracuyanos FC.
The decisive instance already has defined schedules and, as reported by the league through social networks, the first leg will be played at the Florentino Oropeza stadium in San Felipe next Saturday, November 23 at 3:30 pm.
The return match, where the team that will rise to the gold category of Venezuelan soccer will be known, will take place on November 30 – starting at 7:00 pm – at the renovated José Antonio Anzoátegui Olympic stadium in the Barcelona axis -Puerto La Cruz.
hard road
Anzoátegui FC has had a tough road to reach this stage for the first time under this name. It is worth remembering that when the team was called Academia Anzoátegui FC it played the final of the 2022 season, where it lost to Angostura FC.
In the 2024 campaign, those led by Alexis Jordán went from less to more and managed to climb positions in the Central-Eastern Group. In the second semester they fell into a slump in which victories were few and Atlético La Cruz took advantage of this to come back and equal them on points and stay in fourth place, the last place that gave classification.
However, due to administrative issues, the ticket to the quarterfinals was awarded to Anzoátegui, who finished fifth with the worst goal differential.
Already in the stage of the best eight, Anzoátegui left Marítimo de La Guaira on the road, which started as a favorite after finishing leader of the Central-Oriental Group in the regular round.
In the semifinals, the Anzoatiguenses beat Trujillanos FC, in a match that was decided on penalties. In the first leg the Orientals won 2-0 and in the second leg they fell 3-1, forcing a 12-point final where they ended up winning.
Now the next obstacle on the way to the first division is Yaracuyanos FC, which left the other Anzoatiguense team, Dynamo Puerto FC, out of the race.

**(Julio): **
This is a classic David versus Goliath matchup. Yaracuyanos is a more established team in the second division, while Anzoátegui is rising up the ranks. It will be fascinating to see if Anzoátegui can break through Yaracuyanos’ defence and utilize their own attacking prowess. The first leg will be crucial to set the tone.
