Salerano Embraces Sustainable Waste Management with CEM Ambiente
A New Era of Urban Hygiene Begins December 1
Salerano is poised for a transformative shift in its waste management system as CEM Ambiente, a reputable company with a proven track record, takes the reins on December 1st. CEM Ambiente, already providing these services to 76 municipalities across Milan, Monza and Brianza, Lodi, and Pavia, brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to innovation to Salerano.
“The transition to CEM Ambiente will allow citizens to benefit from a more innovative and economically advantageous service,” says CEM President Alberto Fulgione. “In fact, we aim to reduce the quantity of undifferentiated products per inhabitant.”
Revamped Collection Methods
Residents can expect a more efficient and environmentally friendly approach to waste collection. Black bags are out, and semi-transparent bags will become the new standard for household waste.
A notable addition is the introduction of the Multipalk system for the separate collection of plastic, steel, aluminum, and beverage containers. This streamlined approach encourages households to sort their recyclables carefully – cans and metal boxes should no longer be combined with glass, and beverage cartons will no longer be mixed with paper.
Enhanced Cleanliness and Convenience
Street cleaning will take place twice every month on Thursdays, ensuring a consistently cleaner cityscape. The collection center is also slated for a modern makeover to enhance its functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Temporary Closure for Transition
During the transition, the collection center will be temporarily closed from now until December 6th.
A Municipal Partnership for Progress
Mayor Stefania Marcolin views this partnership as a pivotal moment for Salerano. “For Salerano, it is a turning point,” she comments. “We will become leading partners in management, increasing services, specialization, and quality. With better differentiation, there will be an economic recovery, and we will allocate it to tariff reductions rather than further investments in services.”
