If You Thought This Year Would Be Different

Reclaiming Your Hope When You’re Afraid to Believe

It’s hard, isn’t it? Allowing yourself to dream again after disappointment.

We grieve what we hope for, but wasn’t. Our dreams, our plans – when they don’t manifest as expected, it can be tempting to protect ourselves from more hurt. Maybe you, like me, word last year, feeling like hope had let you down.

"This is the year everything will change," we say, clinging to the promise of a bright future. We answer the heart’s cry for better days, but what happens when the snow melts and life looks alarmingly similar? Fear sets in. Fear of being let down again.
Fear that’s the hardest part: the hope that we experience as fellow believers: the deep that God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us (Romans 5:5), it. We’re not told to “send” hope – God is hope. He’s the source,
