The Banking sector at the heart of BRVM variations

The session of Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the BRVM was marked by a slight drop in the main indices: the BRVM Composite fell by 0.21% to settle at 273.57 points, while the BRVM 30 decreased by 0. .20%, reaching 136.84 points. On the other hand, the BRVM Prestige index posted a modest increase of 0.13%, closing at 111.75 points.

The market recorded an exchange volume of 108,404 securities for a total value of 482,631,027 FCFA. Among the best performers, Société Ivoirienne de Banque (SIBC) stood out with an increase of 2.78%, followed by Société Générale Côte d’Ivoire (SGBC) with +2.59%. Conversely, Bank of Africa Burkina Faso (BOAB) suffered the biggest decline, losing 7.45%, penalizing the banking sector.

On the transaction side, SONATEL dominated with a volume of 150,438,415 FCFA, despite a slight decline of 0.41 x, while SAFCA CI recorded the lowest transaction amount, at only 1,400 FCFA.

This session illustrates a contrasting dynamic, marked by significant sectoral variations and a strong contribution from banking players to trade.
