BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 27. The prestigious 29th Azerbaijan Championship and Baku Championship for men’s artistic gymnastics, alongside the distinguished 8th Azerbaijan Championship and Baku Championship for women’s artistic gymnastics, have reached a successful conclusion, showcasing extraordinary talent at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Azerbaijan, as reported by Trend.
According to the information, an impressive array of gymnasts from diverse age groups participated vigorously in the tournament, which unfolded over an exciting full two days filled with dynamic performances.
Fifty talented athletes, comprising 17 women and 33 men, represented various esteemed institutions including the Balakan District Olympic Sports Complex, Ojag Sports Club (with branches in Baku and Sumgayit), the Sumgayit Specialized Children’s and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve No. 1 of the Tahsil Republican Sports Center, as well as the Sumgayit Olympic Complex, making the competition a true showcase of gymnastics excellence.
Categories featured a wide range of competitors: children born in 2014-2015, teenagers aged 2012-2013, youth athletes from 2009-2011, and adults aged 2006 and older took to the floor in women’s artistic gymnastics. In men’s artistic gymnastics, competitions included teenagers born in 2011-2012, youth in Group B from 2009-2010, youth in Group A from 2007-2008, and adult competitors from 2006 and older.
The gymnasts dazzled the audience with individual all-around performances on the first day of the competition, culminating in exciting displays on individual apparatuses—vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise—on the second day.
At the end of the contest, the champions in each category were honored with medals and accolades, celebrating their dedication and hard work.
