Bali’s Election Result: A Landslide Victory or a Slip-Up?
Well, there you have it, folks! When it comes to elections, nothing’s quite as exhilarating as seeing the numbers come tumbling in like a game of dominoes. In the majestic realm of Bali, candidate pair Wayan Koster and I Nyoman Giri Prasta sweat it out in the polls and emerged victorious at TPS 001, Pelaga Village, in Badung. And when I say victorious, I mean they practically won the lottery; they raked in a staggering 467 out of 469 valid votes!
Now, I’m sure you’re wondering: what happened to the other two votes? Was someone simply undecided, or did one voter suffer a severe case of “What was I thinking?” It’s all quite baffling! The Chair of TPS 001, I Made Putra Adnyana, confirmed to detikBali that it was indeed a landslide, or perhaps a landslide with a slight twist of fate, as the competition for candidate number one, Made Muliawan Arya and Putu Agus Suradnyana, couldn’t muster more than a paltry two votes. Let’s give them a standing ovation, shall we? Two votes! At least their mothers participated!
Picture this: the sun rising over beautiful Bali, with hopeful voters lining up while Giri Prasta cozies up to the voting booth alongside his wife and kids like a well-rehearsed family photo for the holidays. He casts his vote before taking on the role of duty-bound official, monitoring polling stations like a hawk with a penchant for democracy. Sadly, there’s got to be one vote in there that’s marked “not today,” which is a touch unfortunate considering the importance of respecting choices in a healthy democracy.
In a world spiraling out of control faster than that spinning top in Inception, Giri Prasta, even amid his glee, urged voters to keep their chin up and respect whichever pair of candidates come out on top, regardless of the result. Wise words from a local hero, demonstrating diplomacy that could bring the world together— one Bali polling station at a time.
This election has practically become a fun trivia question: which polling station got the fewest votes? Should we create a trophy for that? Maybe we can call it the “Wail of the Undecided Voter.” What do you think? Or let’s be honest, maybe an award for the most innovative ways to avoid pressing that final button. Bravo!
(hsa/hsa) – Remember folks, when it comes to democracy, occasionally it’s a landslide, but sometimes it’s just a gentle roll down the hill!
Badung –
Bali candidate pair (paslon) for governor and deputy governor (cagub-cawagub) number 2, Wayan Koster and I Nyoman Giri Prasta, triumphed decisively at TPS 001 located in Pelaga Village, located in the Petang District of Badung. This significant polling station is notable as it is where I Nyoman Giri Prasta cast his vote on the morning of Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
“For the results of the most votes for candidate pair two,” elaborated the Chair of TPS 001 Pelaga, I Made Putra Adnyana, when approached for comment by detikBali. He noted a remarkable turnout and the overwhelming support reflected in the vote.
Vote counting for the Bali gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial candidates has reached completion. In total, of the 469 valid votes cast, a staggering 467 voters chose the candidate pair two, comprised of Wayan Koster and I Nyoman Giri Prasta, commonly referred to as Koster-Giri.
“So we closed the voting. At around 13.30 WITA we started counting the votes,” shared Made Putra, indicating a smooth process in the election procedure.
Judging from the Model C results, the vote tally at the TPS illustrated that candidate number 1, Made Muliawan Arya-Putu Agus Suradnyana (Mulia-PAS), garnered a mere two votes, highlighting the significant preference for Koster-Giri among voters.
Meanwhile, Wayan Koster-I Nyoman Giri Prasta (Koster-Giri) received an impressive 467 votes, while only a single ballot was deemed invalid, showcasing the efficiency and clarity of the voting process.
Prior to casting his vote, Giri Prasta, accompanied by his wife and two children, voted in their hometown of Pelaga Village around 09:30 WITA. Following their voting, Giri Prasta, who continues to serve as the Badung Regent, collaborated with KPU, Bawaslu, and Badung Forkopimda officials to monitor the voting at numerous polling stations across the Petang, Abiansemal, and Mengwi sub-districts.
In a spirit of community and democracy, Giri Prasta urged the public to embrace the diverse opinions manifested in the 2024 Bali gubernatorial election. He further encouraged residents to honor and respect whichever candidate pair (paslon) emerges victorious.
