The great tension was linked to who would be chosen in second place. The match was between Kamzy Gunaratnam and Hadia Tajik, a duel the former emerged victorious from.
Kamzy received 124 votes, against Tajik’s 108.
– For the next four years, I will fight for Oslo and Oslo’s population with the Labor Party’s solutions, Gunaratnam added NRK shortly after the result was clear.
– Will apply for regular jobs
The majority in the nomination committee put Tajik in second place on the nomination list, while the minority wants Gunaratnam – and until recently there was a dead heat between the two in a poll conducted for VG.
It was suggested before the nomination meeting that the meeting could quickly become a win-or-lose in national politics for the two candidates. Tajik indicated after the defeat that she will withdraw from national politics if she does not get a secure place in the Storting until next year.
– I intend to apply for completely normal jobs, she said NRK when asked if she is finished as a politician if she does not get a secure place on the Storting list until next year.
Reports to three representatives
As expected, Jonas Gahr Støre was unanimously put at the top of the Storting list for the Oslo Labor Party. It was also not unexpected that Jan Christian Vestre was voted in third place.
There was also voting for fourth place. Agnes Nærland Viljugrein won here over Trine Lise Sundnes.
If Ap’s support remains at its current level at the election next year, the party is likely to get only three representatives from Oslo in the Storting.
In their speeches to the assembly on Tuesday, both highlighted political breakthroughs they have helped to get through in the past.
Now Gunaratnam can think about future breakthroughs.
– In the next parliamentary term, we will make a major investment in housing, in fighting crime, and ensure that everyone in Oslo has a living wage. That’s why I want to work for Oslo’s population, said Gunaratnam.
