At noon today, in Myrtia, Etoloakarnania, by police officers of the Agrinio Security Sub-Directorate and the Agrinio OPKE, with the assistance of a negotiator from the Akarnania Police Department, a local man was arrested, against whom a criminal case was filed, for intentional homicide and violation of gun law.
In particular, last night, in Agrinio, the accused shot a local woman with a firearm and wounded her in the abdomen, and then fled.
Police officers of the DI.AS team. of the Agrinio Immediate Action Department went to the scene of the crime, where they found the woman with wounds in the abdomen, naming the arrested person as the perpetrator who shot her and assisted in her immediate transport to an E.K.A.B. station, at the Agrini General Hospital, where the patient succumbed to her injuries.
For the arrest of the accused, an organized police operation was set up by police officers of the Agrinio Security Sub-Directorate and the Agrinio OPKE, with the participation of a negotiator from the Akarnania Police Directorate, resulting in the detection and arrest of the accused this afternoon, in Myrtia, Etoloakarnania.
In his possession, the officers of the Agrinio Security Directorate found and confiscated a revolver armed with nine cartridges, a knife, -21- more cartridges and two mobile phones.
It is noted that the defendant was also arrested in September of 2024, following a lawsuit filed by the victim against him, for domestic violence, because while in her home, holding a kitchen knife, he had verbally threatened her, causing her fear and concern.
The competent Prosecution Authority had imposed on the accused the restrictive conditions of not approaching the victim at a distance of less than -50- meters and the prohibition of communication with her, while two shotguns and the relevant firearms licenses had been revoked. For the same case, the patient did not wish to be given a panic button and to be transferred to a secure accommodation facility.
The arrested person will be taken to the First Instance Prosecutor of Etoloakarnania.
The Agrinio Security Sub-Directorate is conducting the preliminary investigation.

But don’t kill him, don’t kill yourself. He threatened to kill himself. He called me in the afternoon. He said to me “I did it, I’ve hit Dora”. I told him that she was not his property, to leave her. He did it.

Everything happened on Monday afternoon (11/11) in Agrinio and more specifically in the city center near the Panaitolikos stadium.
The 43-year-old was in her car when she was shot at close range with the assailant fleeing and disappearing from the scene.

Finally, the 43-year-old woman was rushed to the Agrini Hospital, while the transport was accompanied by DIAS police officers who helped to open the way, but she did not succeed and she breathed her last.
