New sanctions from London against tanker fleet
“The Russophobic policy, which attempts to discredit Russia’s actions and isolate it on the international stage, reflects London’s mood for further systematic confrontation with Russia,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Britain had previously imposed new sanctions, particularly against the fleet of tankers used by Russia for oil exports. Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022 and controls a fifth of the neighboring country, including the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, which was annexed in 2014. Since then, massive international economic and political sanctions have been imposed on Moscow.
