Without milk in Cuba for children from 2 to 6 years old. “It’s not enough for everyone,” says Lácteos

Dairy authorities, from this Cuban province, in the east, confirmed on social networks that there is no milk for Cuban children in that territory from 2 to 6 years old, for the moment, and assured that “not enough for everyone.”

The Dairy Products Company of Santiago de Cuba informed the population on Facebook that it began distributing powdered milk for 0-year-old children this week, adding 10 more days of coverage, completing a total of 20 days for the month.

They recalled that 1-year-old children have insured milk powder coverage until November 23, 2024.

However, due to limitations in current inventory, the product is insufficient to meet the needs of children in the range of 2 to 6 years.

They said they were working on finding solutions to guarantee supply to all age groups in the future and recommended staying tuned for future updates for new details on the availability of dairy products.

Reactions to the lack of milk for children in eastern Cuba

After this information, a user from Santiago commented: “Poor children from 2 to 6”, to which Lácteos de Santiago responded: “The policy is approved by the Ministries, after consultation, it is not the company’s power to have the milk. The little ones are protected and although 2 to 6 are children too, “It’s not enough for everyone.”

Shortly after they added: «There is no stock in the country. “Very complicated for the mothers of this group of children, but it is important to inform.”

“If they have enough for other children, they can give a little to others,” added another user in the debate.

In another post, the Company added about the distribution of milk to children in this area of Cuba, detailing the distribution of powdered milk for children of different age categories.

“10 additional days of milk have begun to be distributed for the group of 0-year-old children, with the aim of completing the 30 days of the current month,” they said.

«As for the group of 1-year-old children, the delivery of 7 additional days of powdered milk is pending to reach 30 days of the month. It is important to remember that 23 corresponding days have already been distributed, starting from the 1st of the month,” they concluded.

For any additional queries, it is recommended to contact the local authorities in charge of distribution or the company directly.
