A package of demands is expected for a new federal government. The issue of electricity costs is likely to be a source of fuel. Carinthia, Burgenland and Lower Austria are in favor of uniform nationwide electricity grid tariffs, which western Austria, especially Vorarlberg, rejects.

Stelzer also sees a need for discussion after the much worse forecast of the revenue shares for 2025 was only passed on to the states at the end of the budget preparation process: “Communication between the federal and state governments must be improved.” His colleagues from Burgenland, Hans Peter Doskozil (SPÖ), and from Styria, Christopher Drexler (ÖVP), apologized for Traunkirchen.
