Outside SYRIZA-PS, Themis Bakas, a candidate for Achaia MP with SYRIZA-PS, put himself forward in the 2023 elections, citing reasons of political and personal dignity and self-respect.
In the statement Mr. Bakas states: “I feel the moral obligation to inform, primarily to those who honored me with their vote in the 2023 national elections, that reasons of political and personal dignity, as well as self-respect, led me to the painful, but necessary, decision to leave SYRIZA-PS. I thank from the bottom of my heart all those who accompanied me, while I am sure that we will meet again on new fronts, so that we can fight for a modern, democratic and progressive Greece. The fight goes on…”
