photon counterfeiters and fake content are popular on the internet!

A few months ago, I saw this shadow in my home…or rather this play of light. It was there, like that on my floor, the result of pure chance. This photo has not been subject to any editing, manipulation or even a special effect to create or amplify the shape. In other words, I did not touch the objects in the room to form this shadow (even if I cannot prove this)

It’s a simple but authentic photo and it reflects a truth, a reality of a moment. A moment when the chance of the lights chose to form a heart

This photo will not create a buzz because it is too simple, not spectacular enough, not exceptional enough, not violent enough, not despicable enough or even not stupid enough…But this photo has the immense advantage of being true, of being authentic…and it is not the result of manipulation or optical editing…None of that, just the chance of the right moment! No doubt if I had passed a few minutes later, the shape would have changed…

Fake news or fake content is a hit on the internet!

It’s the complete opposite of what currently works on the internet: the false, the manipulation of reality, the transformation of the truth…Fake news, something bogus, fake content, spreads 6 to 7 times faster on the internet. This has been demonstrated for many years…

All this for what? A fleeting moment of digital glory? A moment of glory that most authors won’t even benefit from financially. It is social networks that reap most of the profits from buzz. Therefore you are, we are, only their digital slaves version 2.0. But what does the Human Rights Court think? Not much because we don’t tackle GAFA so easily!

Distorting digital realitythis has existed for a while via photon filters, a boon for influencers and especially influences whose business is often based on deception. But since everyone has access to generative artificial intelligence, the possibility of distorting reality has exploded!

Cheating and manipulation were obviously not born with the internet, but they have become much more accessible… Do you think that trolls would talk like they do on the internet in front of a real person at a cafe with a real risk of taking a very real slap? In addition to deception, social networks and the social internet also boost cowardice…

But why is this a problem?

Because obviously that diminishes the value of what is true, what is real, what is authentic! In short, what is not manipulated or false!

Except that, well, social media algorithms have very little to do with the truth, with reality. Even if in their official press releases they claim the opposite and fight against it… they are lying, they are lying to you. All algorithms want is to keep your brain connected to their tools for as long as possible. Some people spoke at the time of brain time available to sell advertisements on TV. Do you remember?

So between a true austere reality and a false fantasized reality the algorithm will quickly have made its choice: he will push the lie forward…

And there, it will quickly become dangerous since falsehood, lies, corruption will come before truth, facts and honesty.

Truth and reality are no longer popular on social networks where honesty no longer pays.

My mother told me:

“Christophe, if you lie too often, no one will believe you when you tell the truth”

We must believe that the developers of Social Networks and Artificial Intelligence algorithms did not have a mother as caring as mine?

André Gide wrote to him,

“In a world where everyone cheats, it is the real man who appears as a charlatan”

How to distinguish cheating behind a screen when you don’t have all the game settings in hand?

And Antoine de Saint-Exupéry affirmed that we could well see that with his heart. How to see a manipulated reality with your heart and distorted through a screen?

Do we want a society of lies and falsehood?

Society where the transgression of reality will be more rewarded than the factsthat reality and that human creativity? Making humans, in fact, more and more…useless…

It is time to at least ask ourselves the question: do we want to tolerate a society of lies and manipulation where intellectual corruption will pay more than honesty and human work?

If we accept it, out of convenience and the search for easy profit, dark times, very dark times, await the majority of the human population… times already imagined by many. many authors of societal anticipation!

To meditate…

How does ⁢Christophe believe social media algorithms‍ impact the perception of ‌authenticity in digital‌ content?

**Interview ‍with Christophe: The Value of Authenticity in a Digital Age**

**Interviewer:** Christophe, thank you for joining us today. You recently shared an ⁤experience ‍with a simple photo that you took, which sparked ⁢discussions on authenticity‍ versus‍ manipulation in our digital lives. Can you tell us more about that moment?

**Christophe:** Absolutely! A few months⁣ ago, I ⁤noticed a beautiful play of light‌ that formed a heart shape on my floor. It was purely coincidental, and I immediately snapped a photo. There was no‌ editing or manipulation involved; it was⁢ a raw, honest representation of that fleeting ‍moment. I knew it wouldn’t create a buzz because,⁢ in today’s digital landscape, it’s just not ‘exciting’ ⁣enough for social media.

**Interviewer:** ⁤You bring up an⁢ important point about how simple, authentic moments often⁢ get overlooked in⁤ favor of more sensationalized content. Why do you⁢ think that is?

**Christophe:** In our current digital⁣ environment, fake news and manipulated content spread much faster than authentic truths. ‌People crave the sensational, even if it means embracing falsehoods. This is often driven⁣ by social media algorithms that prioritize engagement over accuracy. They want ‌to keep users hooked, even if that means elevating misleading content. My mother used to ⁣say, “if you lie too often, no⁢ one will believe you when⁤ you tell‍ the truth.” Unfortunately, it ⁣seems many social media developers failed to learn that lesson.

**Interviewer:**‍ That’s ⁢a ‍powerful statement. How do you⁣ see this trend impacting society as ⁢a whole?

**Christophe:**⁣ It diminishes the value of what is ⁤genuine and ⁣real. Authentic experiences are being overshadowed by fabricated or exaggerated ones. In essence, social media algorithms can distort reality by amplifying falsehoods while overshadowing truth. We risk living in‌ a society where honesty is undervalued and authenticity is viewed ⁣with skepticism. This ⁢can ‍lead to a dangerous situation where falsehoods are accepted as the norm, ⁣while truth⁢ becomes an anomaly.

**Interviewer:** You mentioned the rise of generative artificial intelligence in your writings. What⁣ role do you think‍ AI plays in ⁤this landscape?

**Christophe:** Generative⁢ AI⁣ has made ⁤the‌ manipulation of reality more accessible than ever. It blurs⁢ the lines between⁣ truth and fabrication, making it easier for influencers and creators to present inauthentic content as real. This trend has amplified the issue and makes ⁢it even harder for the authentic to stand out. ⁢Just‍ as we see ‍trolls boldly expressing their ⁣opinions online with ⁤little consequence, AI enables deceptive ‌practices without accountability.

**Interviewer:** So, what do you ⁣believe needs to change to restore ⁢value to ‌authenticity in the digital sphere?

**Christophe:** We need to cultivate a culture that values truth and ‌real connections, paired with greater accountability for those‌ who spread misinformation. Users‌ must‍ also be educated about the algorithms that dictate their feeds and the economic incentives behind ⁣viral content. Ultimately, we should strive to create ‌a digital environment where honesty not only has a place but is also rewarded.

**Interviewer:** Thank you,‌ Christophe, ⁢for sharing your ⁤insights⁤ on this crucial topic. Your perspective highlights⁢ the importance of preserving⁣ authenticity in a fast-paced, often misleading digital world.

**Christophe:** Thank you for having me. ‍I hope we can encourage more conversations about the value of truth and ‌authenticity in our lives, both online and offline.
