Come One, Come All to Arte x Valencia!
Hollering for a little help here!
Mark your calendars, fête enthusiasts! On Friday, November 29, from 12:00 to 14:00 and then again from 16:00 to 20:30, the Tabacalera civic center will be transformed from drab to fab as it gets ready to host a soirée of art, literature, and—dare I say—plenty of surprises! Yes, I know what you’re thinking: “Surprises? What do you mean?!” Well, you’ll have to show up to find out. As they say, life is like a box of chocolates—though, typically, I prefer my boxes to contain money instead.
Collaboration Nation!
This splendid initiative, dubbed ‘Art for Valencia Cantabria’, is the brainchild of the Creation Factory, an organization teaming up with local cultural agents to help ease the pain caused by recent storm damages. I can hear you all now, “How do they plan to help?” Well, they’re putting on a veritable buffet of artistic endeavors: an exhibition with a side of book signings, all to help support COPAVA, an association dedicated to improving quality of life for those with intellectual functional diversity. Because let’s be honest, if we can’t support those in need through art, what’s even the point of having art?
The courageous Councilor for Culture, Noemí Méndez, was present to spread the good word, accompanied by the talented Marta Romero and her merry band of cultural warriors, including Débora Regalado and Zoa Peña Cortiguera. They convened to pull back the curtain on this exciting venture meant to financially bolster the whopping nine centers damaged in the Valencian Community. Talk about turning tragedy into triumph!
What’s On Offer?
So, what’s cooking at this artistically charged jamboree? You can lose yourself in a selection of plastic works lovingly donated by local maestros like Gloria Torner, Pedro Sobrado, Ana San Segundo, and a litany of others who clearly have more spare time than I do (I’m still trying to figure out how to fold a paper airplane). And if you’re a literary connoisseur, fret not; the event offers books and poems, including those from the illustrious Dori Campos and Marta Vega Campos, perfect for impressing your friends or for using as strategic doorstops.
Musical Melodies!
Wait, there’s more! You’ve got a concert decently timed for 18:30 featuring the melodic sounds of ÍNTIMA MORA and Mizmaya. Bring your dancing shoes…or at least your clapping hands—just don’t do both at once unless you’re really talented or like making a fool of yourself. Either way, the music will be splendid!
Give Me Your Money, Please!
Now let’s talk coin. Admission is, drumroll please… FREE! Yes, you heard me right. However, if you want to enjoy the concert, you’ll need to chip in a minimum donation of 5 euros. Don’t worry; they’re accepting all forms of payment, including bizum or bank transfer, at the entrance. Just remember: not all heroes wear capes, but some do bring their wallets.
Join the Fun!
So slip on your best attire (or your best sweatpants—no judgment here) and make your way to the Tabacalera civic center for what promises to be an exhilarating day of art, music, and a fantastic showcase of community spirit! Remember, even the smallest deeds make a thunderous impact when accompanied by passion. And who doesn’t love the sweet sound of clinking change for a cause?
Until then, stay cheeky and generous, my friends!

The Creation Factory, in collaboration with local cultural and artistic agents, is set to host this impactful event on Friday, November 29. The goal is to raise much-needed funds to support those affected by recent storms and damage in the region.
During a press conference held today, the Councilor for Culture, Noemí Méndez, along with the event’s coordinators, Marta Romero, Débora Regalado, and Zoa Peña Cortiguera, unveiled the details of this much-anticipated solidarity day.
This charitable event will be hosted on the third floor of the Tabacalera civic center, with hours of operation from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:30.
Councilor Méndez emphasized the active participation of artists and cultural agents who are coming together to express their solidarity with Valencia. She pointed out that all proceeds from the event will directly benefit the COPAVA association, an organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and functional diversity across over 50 centers in the Valencian Community, nine of which have experienced severe storm damage.
Débora Regalado stated that ‘Arte x Valencia Cantabria’ exemplifies the powerful synergy of culture and compassion, proving that art can serve as an essential catalyst for positive change. “Our aim is to galvanize community involvement to fortify these struggling entities in the long term,” she underscored.
Attendees at the Creation Factory will have the opportunity to explore an exhibition showcasing small-format plastic artworks generously donated by esteemed artists including Gloria Torner, Pedro Sobrado, and many others, contributing to the rich tapestry of creative expression.
Additionally, book lovers will find a special segment dedicated to the reading, signing, and sale of literary works and poetry by prominent local authors such as Dori Campos, Gian Kousi, Paloma Bienert, and Marta Vega Campos.
A live music concert featuring the enchanting sounds of ÍNTIMA MORA and Mizmaya is slated to commence at 18:30, enhancing the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
Local businesses, including Bodegas Igarmi, SIDERIT, Agua de Solares, and others, are proud collaborators in this initiative, supporting the cause through gracious contributions.
While admission to the event is free for most activities, attendees wishing to enjoy the concert will need to make a minimum donation of 5 euros, with payment options available via bizum or bank transfer at the entrance of the Tabacalera building.
