Jakarta –
On social media, complaints from car owners have gone viral who are experiencing problems with the fuel pump and filter. In the video circulating on social media, several cars experienced the same problem.
The video circulating widely on social media states that the cars were handled at the Daihatsu Cibinong workshop. Not just one, it appears there are several cars that had to have their petrol drained because they experienced the same thing.
“Here, the petrol pump filter is destroyed, it’s covered in moss, it’s broken. This is the fuel that was just filled, it all has to be thrown away, this is what happened, Pertamax. Here are the other cases, the same at this workshop, at Daihatsu Cibinong,” said the woman who recorded the viral video.

Some cars have broken fuel pumps. The technician at the workshop was seen dismantling the tank and draining the fuel in the car.
Pertamina Patra Niaga immediately carried out an investigation regarding complaints from car users who filled up Pertamax fuel. The exact cause is not yet known because it is still being investigated.
Apart from internal investigations, starting from checking the quality of Pertamax at the BBM Terminal to petrol stations, Pertamina Patra Niaga also carried out checks at workshops in the Cibinong area. Apart from coordinating with workshops, Pertamina Patra Niaga also collaborates with LAPI ITB.
“Even though the cause is not yet known whether it was a Pertamax product or a vehicle spare part, we apologize for this incident. Product quality investigations have been ongoing since last Friday. We continue to coordinate with the repair shop and LAPI ITB. We have also sent product samples to Lemigas for “further lab tests,” explained Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Heppy Wulansari in a written statement, Monday (25/11/2024).
From the results of temporary monitoring in the field, vehicles reported experiencing engine problems only occurred in certain brands and types of vehicles, not in all vehicles that were filled with Pertamax.
Heppy continued that his party was simultaneously waiting for the results of the investigation and product testing. Pertamina continues to track vehicles experiencing engine problems.
Meanwhile, detikOto is trying to find out the cause with Daihatsu regarding this case. However, until this news was broadcast, Daihatsu had not yet responded.

Fuel Fiasco in Jakarta: The Pertamax Predicament
Well, well, well! It seems we have a bit of a “bumper-to-bumper” crisis in Jakarta, and this time it’s not caused by the usual traffic jams or an ill-timed game of “fuzzy duck.” No, my friends, this is a case of epic proportions involving—wait for it—fuel pumps and moss! Yes, you heard that right. CAR owners are venting like a pressure cooker left unattended, and social media is aflame with tales of woe from those who dared fill their tanks with Pertamax!
The Great Fuel Debacle
The drama unfolded as a video went viral, showcasing multiple cars crying foul after a pit stop at the Daihatsu Cibinong workshop. It’s like a bad soap opera where every episode leaves you more perplexed than the last! Apparently, these cars aren’t just experiencing run-of-the-mill hiccups; oh no, their fuel pumps are being literally *upended!*
“Here, the petrol pump filter is destroyed, it’s covered in moss, it’s broken,” shouted one distraught car owner. Talk about a fuel fiasco! It sounds like these pumps went on more of a spa retreat than a day at the office!
Picture this: you pull up, ready for a juice for your vehicle, but instead of a nice revitalizing fill-up, your car ends up needing a complete detox! And where do they actually send these petrol-starved beauties? That’s right—straight to a workshop for a good old-fashioned draining session. *Cheers to that!*
Pertamina’s Response
Enter stage right: Pertamina Patra Niaga, armed with their magnifying glasses and lab coats, announcing an investigation because, you know, nothing says ‘we care’ quite like a good ol’ inquiry. They’re combing through every drop of Pertamax like it’s a detective’s case in a noir film. But don’t break out the popcorn just yet—nobody knows what went wrong. Was it the *Pertamax*? Was it the cars? Or did someone just forget to clean the moss from their garden instead of the filter? The plot thickens!
Heppy Wulansari, the Corporate Secretary, has taken to the press, issuing apologies and explaining that they’re in cahoots with workshops and academic institutes to get to the bottom of this green gooey mess. You can almost hear the dramatic music rising in the background as they gather samples for lab tests. Let’s hope they don’t find some ex-vegetable stuck in there!
How Common Is This Issue?
Now, here’s the kicker: from preliminary investigations, it appears that only certain brands and types of vehicles are being affected. So, if you’ve got a trusty old jalopy that’s more character than car, you might be sitting pretty—unless you regularly fill up with moss-approved fuel!
As of now, Daihatsu is playing a game of hide and seek with comments on this issue, leaving us to wonder just how big the problem really is. Will they respond, or are they quietly hoping this will just blow over like the last trend that fizzled out? Who knows!
Conclusion: What’s Next?
So, there you have it. A fuel mishap that’s brought Jakarta’s roads to a new level of bewilderment! Remember folks, the next time you fill up, maybe check for moss-based products first? You wouldn’t want your car conducting its very own “Kumbaya” session with its fuel pump, would you? Stay tuned for updates, and keep those fuel filters clean—because in the land of Pertamax, anything can happen!
Jakarta –
Complaints from car owners regarding significant issues with fuel pumps and filters have surged across social media platforms. Multiple videos have emerged, showcasing several vehicles grappling with identical problems.
The widespread footage indicates that these cars were all serviced at the Daihatsu Cibinong workshop. It appears that not just one car, but a number of vehicles required their petrol to be drained due to similar issues.
“Here, the petrol pump filter is destroyed, it’s covered in moss, it’s broken. This is the fuel that was just filled, it all has to be thrown away, this is what happened, Pertamax. Here are the other cases, the same at this workshop, at Daihatsu Cibinong,” stated a woman in the now-viral video, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
Pertamina Patra Niaga has taken immediate action by launching an investigation into the complaints made by car users who recently filled up with Pertamax fuel. The precise cause of these widespread problems remains undetermined as investigations are actively in progress.
Apart from internal investigations, Pertamina is systematically examining the quality of Pertamax from the BBM Terminal to petrol stations and is also performing checks at various workshops in the Cibinong area. This investigation involves not only coordination with local repair shops but also collaboration with LAPI ITB.
“Even though the cause is not yet known whether it was a Pertamax product or a vehicle spare part, we apologize for this incident. Product quality investigations have been ongoing since last Friday. We continue to coordinate with the repair shop and LAPI ITB. We have also sent product samples to Lemigas for further lab tests,” explained Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Heppy Wulansari in a written statement, Monday (25/11/2024).
From early monitoring results in the field, the reported engine problems are said to appear predominantly in certain brands and types of vehicles, rather than affecting all cars that were filled with Pertamax.
Heppy continued by mentioning that they are simultaneously awaiting results from the ongoing investigation and product testing processes. Pertamina is actively tracking down vehicles experiencing engine failures.
In the meantime, detikOto is making efforts to establish communication with Daihatsu about this issue. However, as of the time this news was published, Daihatsu had not yet provided a response.
