The developments in the official opposition party, with Theodora Tzakri, are fast-paced to reiterate today her intention to resign today from the position of secretary of the Parliamentary Group and from the SYRIZA bodies, adding that for the time being she remains in the parliamentary group of the party.
At the same time, Ms. Tzakri left open the possibility of leaving SYRIZA, noting that “my actions will evolve in the coming days”.
As she also said in another part of her interview with ANT1, “there is a plan”.
“Those people who waved their handkerchiefs at me and said ‘hello’, what did they think I was going to do? They have great audacity who drove the majority of the delegates to talk about apostates. There are no defectors but people who were expelled” said Ms. Jakri.
Regarding the hints Giannoulis, Mrs. Tzakri said that he “judges other people’s affairs on his own, I remember being accused of colluding with PASOK. I will not go to any PASOK”.
Theodora Tzakri said, finally, that she will be integrated into the Kasselaki movement when it develops into a party.

What are the implications of SYRIZA’s recent internal resignations for its future in Greek politics?
**Interview with Political Analyst Dr. Maria Konstantinou on Recent Developments in SYRIZA and PASOK**
**Host:** Welcome to our special segment on the recent political shifts in Greece. Today, we have Dr. Maria Konstantinou, a political analyst specializing in Greek politics, to discuss the latest developments regarding SYRIZA and the emerging status of PASOK as the official opposition party. Thank you for joining us, Dr. Konstantinou.
**Dr. Konstantinou:** Thank you for having me.
**Host:** So, let’s dive right in. Theodora Tzakri and Giota Poulou have recently announced their resignation from SYRIZA and their intention to sit as independent MPs. What does this mean for SYRIZA?
**Dr. Konstantinou:** These resignations are quite significant for SYRIZA, as they indicate deepening divisions within the party. Tzakri’s role as the secretary of the Parliamentary Group added weight to her departure, suggesting that dissatisfaction may be more widespread than previously thought. With PASOK now taking the lead in the number of MPs, this could mark a turning point in Greek opposition politics.
**Host:** Indeed. With PASOK gaining momentum, how do you see its role evolving in the context of opposition to the ruling party?
**Dr. Konstantinou:** PASOK’s new status as the official main opposition party could help it regain relevance in Greek politics, especially as SYRIZA struggles to maintain cohesion. This shift might enable PASOK to consolidate its base and appeal to voters who are disillusioned with the current government and SYRIZA’s internal conflicts. The party can capitalize on this situation by presenting itself as a stable alternative.
**Host:** We’ve seen a lot of rapid changes in the landscape lately. How might these developments affect voter sentiment heading into the next elections?
**Dr. Konstantinou:** Voter sentiment will likely be influenced by how both parties respond to these changes. If PASOK can effectively communicate its vision and capitalize on SYRIZA’s struggles, it might attract undecided voters. Conversely, if SYRIZA can address its internal issues and reestablish a united front, it could recover trust. Ultimately, the next elections will be pivotal, shaped by how these parties navigate this transitional period.
**Host:** Thank you, Dr. Konstantinou, for your insights on this evolving political situation in Greece. It will be interesting to see how these dynamics unfold.
**Dr. Konstantinou:** My pleasure! I look forward to observing how the political landscape evolves in the coming months.
**Host:** And to our viewers, thank you for tuning in. Stay informed as we continue to cover these critical developments in Greek politics.
