What⁣ are the four dreams outlined in “Querida Amazonia” ‍and how do they relate to the current challenges facing the Amazonian people?

**Interview with Cardenal Michael Czerny about⁢ “Querida Amazonia”**

**Interviewer:** Thank you, Cardenal Czerny, for joining us today. With nearly a year since the Synod on Amazonia concluded, how do you ⁣feel about the‌ outcomes, especially in‌ relation to the post-synodal exhortation‌ “Querida Amazonia”?

**Cardenal Czerny:** Thank you for having me. The experience of the Synod ⁤was truly transformative. “Querida Amazonia” is not just a document; it reflects the hopes, challenges, and dreams of the Amazonian people. Its four dreams – social, cultural, ecological, and‍ ecclesial – highlight crucial areas for development and offer a path for a more integrated ‍approach to pastoral care in the region.

**Interviewer:** ‌You mentioned the four dreams. Can you elaborate on their significance?

**Cardenal Czerny:** Certainly. These dreams are interlinked ⁣and emphasize that the future of the Amazon cannot be achieved without addressing issues of justice, identity, and environmental care. For example, the dream of a socially just Amazon speaks to the need for social equity among the indigenous communities‌ that have suffered historical injustices. Meanwhile, the⁤ ecological dream underscores the profound connection between the people and their land,⁤ urging us all to protect creation actively [[1](https://www.vaticannews.va/es/iglesia/news/2020-09/czerny-los-cuatro-suenos-querida-amazonia-entrevista-vida-nueva.html)].

**Interviewer:** In light ⁢of these themes, what steps do you believe the Church ⁤should take to actualize these dreams?

**Cardenal Czerny:** The Church must continue to listen deeply to⁣ the voices of the Amazonian people ⁢and support them in their struggles. We need to foster an educational ⁢and pastoral framework ‌that helps‍ build leaders from within these ‍communities who can advocate for their rights and culture. ⁤Collaborative efforts with ⁣civil society are⁤ essential, as is our commitment to ecological justice, ensuring that environmental protections are implemented effectively ⁣ [[1](https://www.vaticannews.va/es/iglesia/news/2020-09/czerny-los-cuatro-suenos-querida-amazonia-entrevista-vida-nueva.html)].

**Interviewer:** What message would you like to leave with our audience regarding the future of the Amazon?

**Cardenal Czerny:** I encourage everyone⁢ to engage with the wisdom of the Amazonian peoples and support their struggles for justice, respect, and care for creation. The future of our planet is intimately linked to the health of the Amazon, and we‌ all have a responsibility to protect‌ it. ‌Let us‍ not just dream but‌ act toward making those dreams a reality [[1](https://www.vaticannews.va/es/iglesia/news/2020-09/czerny-los-cuatro-suenos-querida-amazonia-entrevista-vida-nueva.html)].
