Buenos Aires (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Ngo Minh Nguyet has pledged her unwavering support to assist Argentine firms in broadening their trade alliances with Vietnam. This initiative particularly emphasizes the export of essential local products, notably high-quality beef, soybean, corn, and cotton, which are staple commodities in Argentina.
During her visit to Reconquista city in Santa Fe province from November 21-23, Ambassador Nguyet engaged in productive discussions with Mayor Amadeo Enrique Vallejos, focusing on enhancing mutual trade opportunities.
She provided an insightful overview of the cooperative relations between Vietnam and Argentina, stressing that Vietnam has now become Argentina’s sixth largest trade partner. This growing partnership underscores the immense potential for further collaboration, especially in sectors like aquaculture, where both nations could significantly benefit from sharing expertise and best practices.
Mayor Vallejos emphasized that Reconquista is strategically positioning itself to penetrate global markets, with Vietnam identified as a high-priority destination for its leaders and businesses. He articulated the city’s commitment to expanding international trade relations, particularly through cooperation with Vietnam.
He elaborated on Reconquista’s robust livestock industry, which encompasses breeding of cows, pigs, and poultry, in addition to the cultivation of key agricultural products such as soybeans, corn, sorghum, cotton, sunflowers, and citrus trees. He expressed a keen interest in exploring collaboration opportunities and gaining insights from Vietnam’s advanced aquaculture practices, which could enhance local capabilities.
On this occasion, Vallejos honored Ambassador Nguyet by naming her an Honorary Guest of Reconquista and presented her with the Key of the City, a significant emblem of the city’s dedication to fostering international cooperation and goodwill.
The Vietnamese diplomat also held extensive working sessions with Mayor of Vera city Paura Mitre, President of Guadalupe Norte district Hector Zat, and President of La Sarita district Gerardo Castillo, aiming to strengthen regional connections.
She also toured several livestock facilities, along with notable beef and pork processing and export enterprises in Reconquista, such as Friar and Tutto Porkys, providing her an in-depth look at local industry operations.

**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Ambassador Nguyet. Your recent visit to Reconquista in Santa Fe province highlighted key discussions on trade with Argentina. Can you tell us more about your objectives during this visit?
**Ambassador Nguyet:** Thank you for having me. The primary objective of my visit was to enhance bilateral trade relationships between Vietnam and Argentina. In particular, we focused on supporting Argentine firms in expanding their exports, especially for essential local products such as high-quality beef, soybeans, corn, and cotton. These commodities are not only vital to Argentina’s economy but also highly valued in Vietnam.
**Interviewer:** That sounds promising. What specific trade alliances or agreements are you hoping to establish or strengthen during this collaboration?
**Ambassador Nguyet:** We are committed to raising our bilateral trade turnover to $10 billion by 2025, as outlined in our recent discussions. This goal includes supporting agricultural exports and ensuring that Vietnamese businesses are aware of the high-quality products that Argentina can offer. Strengthening our trade infrastructure and business networks is crucial for making this a reality.
**Interviewer:** During your discussions with Mayor Amadeo Enrique Vallejos, what were some of the key points you covered regarding mutual trade opportunities?
**Ambassador Nguyet:** Mayor Vallejos and I discussed various strategies for fostering a stronger economic partnership. We are particularly interested in exploring how we can facilitate the flow of agricultural products between our countries. Additionally, we talked about hosting trade exhibitions and delegations to further promote our respective markets and create direct connections between our businesses.
**Interviewer:** It’s clear that there is a robust framework for collaboration. How do you see Vietnam’s role evolving in the Argentine market in the coming years?
**Ambassador Nguyet:** Vietnam is emerging as Argentina’s second-largest export market in Asia, and I believe this relationship will only grow stronger. As we diversify our trade portfolio and enhance our cooperation in sectors beyond agriculture—such as technology and manufacturing—Vietnam can offer significant opportunities for Argentine businesses. Our aim is to support each other not just through trade but also in areas like investment and sustainable development.
